Q & A
Answers to frequently asked questions
How much does a roofer cost in Hamburg?
Small repairs such as loose tiles, leaking junctions or storm damage often cost about €150–€600, with labour commonly around €55–€90 per hour plus materials and travel. Re-roofing may cost roughly €120–€250 per m², or €180–€350 per m² with insulation. Scaffolding, access, parking, central locations and heritage requirements can add to Hamburg costs.
How do I find the right roofer in Hamburg?
Check qualifications, liability insurance, experience with your roof type, credible reviews and an itemised quote. Labour, materials, scaffolding, disposal, travel, possible extras and payment stages should be separate. Send photographs, plans and previous invoices where available, and ask about experience with older roofs, dormers and restricted courtyard access.
When should I book a roofer?
Plan renovations, re-roofing, insulation and roof windows several weeks or months ahead. Spring to autumn is especially busy, and demand spikes after storms. For active water ingress, arrange emergency protection immediately and document the damage for the insurer or building management. Scaffolding, courtyards, pavements and neighbours may also require coordination.
What should a roofing quote include?
It should detail removal, membrane, battens, covering, metalwork, gutters, insulation, windows, scaffolding, disposal and site safety, with named material quality, schedule, warranty and payment terms. It should also explain how hidden roof-timber damage will be handled. Compare the complete scope, because omitted secondary work can make a low quote much more expensive.
Can a roofer help with storm damage or a leaking roof?
Yes. Many provide emergency protection and later permanent repairs. Protect belongings, collect water safely and photograph the damage, but address any electrical risk first. Emergency call-outs in Hamburg may start around €150–€300 or more depending on time, access and materials. Confirm immediate charges and whether the roofer can provide an insurance report.
Which roofing jobs are common in Hamburg?
Common work includes tiled-roof repairs, flat-roof waterproofing, gutters, chimney and dormer junctions, roof windows, insulation and complete renovation. Historic apartment buildings and restricted courtyards are frequent practical considerations. When requesting quotes, state the building type, roof form and whether access is from the street, courtyard or scaffolding.
Do roof works require permission?
Minor repairs usually do not. Permission or additional approval may be required when changing the roof shape, adding dormers, creating living space, making structural changes for solar installations or working on a listed building. Hamburg zoning, design rules and owners’ association approval may also matter. Check requirements before ordering materials or scaffolding.
How do I compare roofing prices fairly?
Compare quotes with the same scope and separate labour, materials, scaffolding, disposal and optional items. A square-metre figure is misleading if insulation, metalwork or windows are omitted. Review stage payments carefully and be cautious with large advances without corresponding work. Good roofers explain differences and risks without pressuring you.

Roofers in Hamburg have an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars, based on 220 reviews of the featured professionals in Hamburg.Für unser Projekt "Dachsanierung" suchten wir eine Firma die alle Gewerke zuverlässig aus einer Hand durchführt.
